Scharndorf is owned by ContourGlobal Wind Holding GmbH, which is a 100% subsidiary of the ContourGlobal erneuerbare Energie Europa GmbH. The wind park consists of 3 Senvion M122- 3,4 megawatt, 2 Vestas V117-3,45 megawatt, 1 Vestas V150- 6,0 megawatt, 1 Vestas V136- 4,2 megawatt and 1 Vestas V80- 2,0 megawatt turbine with a gross output of 29,3 megawatt. The site is located 30 km east of Vienna in the municipality Scharndorf and is connected to the medium-voltage grid of the local energy provider Netz Niederösterreich. Commercial operations of the first wind turbine began in 2003, followed by several re-powering phases. The final re-powering phase was completed in 2004. The majority of the turbines has a fixed feed-in remuneration contract for 13 years. The more recent turbines have Contracts for differences (CfDs) for 20 years.
